Fantasy X   By: DJ Oleksak       Chapter One: The Gifted Ones                 Ever since I was a kid I've felt different from the others who knew I'd be this different. My name is Yuki Konimoto, I'm 17 years now and I go to a special school. Junon High is what the school is called. It's an ok school but I never really liked school in the first place. This school is different though it's a school in the study of magic and the power of the planet. I have short brown hair and crystal blue eyes. I wear a black leather jacket and a red shirt with jeans. Yeah I look like the bad kid in school but hey I don't care. In this school we carry a weapon for protection purposes I guess. I carry a sword on my back with a black sheath. The sword has a Japanese symbol carved into it. The discovery of my powers was seven years ago but it hurts me to remember such things.             Don't think I'm alone or anything I have a group I hang out with. Hiei is the tough one like me. He stands about 5 8 with blonde hair that he has spiked. His eyes are a green color and he wears a black martial arts outfit. He caries two katanas on his back. Unlike most blades his are the color of gold. Apparently his grandfather gave them to him but I never really asked. His attitude well he's more of a wise ass really. He likes making remarks when necessary. His favorite type of battle is more stealth when mine is a full force attack. Maybe we're friends because we're basically opposites.             Kira is a girl same age as me 17. She has long blue hair going down to her back with pink highlights. Her eyes are a light turquoise that only seems innocent. Yeah she seems real innocent which turns on a lot of guys on. She wears a white blouse and blue mini skirt showing off her legs. Always blushing and everything when guys grin at her make her seem real innocent. She's a tough fighter though. She wields two handguns on the hoisters at the side of her skirt. She also wears small brown shoes. I don't really know why she hangs out with us maybe she has a thing for Hiei.             Sion Ukizima is another friend of mine. He has short brown hair and dark blue eyes. He's what you'd call the cocky one. He wears a red coat and black T-shirt. There's a dog collar around his neck with a chain leading down with a sun crest hanging on it. Also he has brown leather gloves and blue jeans covering his black boots. He prefers using his fists in combat but has two swords at his side with dragons carved into the blades. The girls go for Sion's cocky attitude but he's pretty cool I guess.             Yami Itzuriko is also a girl of 17. She doesn't seem to hide the fact that she's not innocent. Her eyes are a red blood color and her hair is long and black. She likes to wear a black, tight belly shirt and a green miniskirt so high you could basically see her panties. She knows this too she's always walking seductively and grinning. Her weapons are two knives sheathed and tied at her waist. She wears red high heels. She hangs out with us because she thinks I have a thing for her. The other guys kind of give me a look when she walks up to me and such. I really could care less she's not my type. I heard that Sion might have a thing for her though.             I heard today there was going to be a new girl in class. "Oh boy", I thought taking my seat in the back putting my feet up on my desk. It was the beginning of homeroom about 7:45am. I closed my eyes listening to my CD player. When I opened them Kira was face to face with me. A bit shocked I lost balance and fell out of my chair. "Good morning Yuki", she said closing her eyes and smiling. “God Kira why the hell did you sneak up on me like that", I said with a sigh getting up and putting my CD player away. Sion came in and stood next to me. "Hey Yuki what's up", he said smacking his hand on my back. "I'm not in the mood", I groaned rubbing my eyes. It was still early anyhow.             I sat back down and Sion sat on the side of me and Kira on the other side. Yami came walking in followed by hooting and cheering. I just sat there my feet on my desk when she came by me. "Aw is Yuki jealous", she teased taking a seat in front of me. "As if", I mumbled closing my eyes. Hiei arrived and stood against a wall in the corner near my desk. I looked at him and he nodded so I nodded back. "Any sign of the new kid yet", Hiei asked cracking his neck. I shook my head and turned looking at the door. There she was the new girl walking right through it. I sat up wow what a girl. She was wearing a small black leather tank top and matching micro miniskirt. My eyes widened why the hell couldn't I take my eyes off her. Her eyes were violet and her hair long and purple. Two wings seemed to be sticking out of her back. It was nothing new a lot of half demon half human people come to this school. Two silver cat ears seemed to perk up when she entered the room. On the right side of her neck I noticed a marking of some sort.             "Ok attention homeroom", the teacher yelled causing the room to go silent. I was still looking at her and it seemed the others noticed it they began laughing a little. The teacher was in her 20's wearing a light blue dress; She also had cat ears black ones. Her eyes were a red color. "Now class this is our new student Koshi Minekura." Everyone nodded except me I couldn't take my eyes off her. I think she noticed that because her eyes turned to look at me. I swear I saw a smirk cross her face as she walked over to us. At her side were two Uzis as she took a seat in front of me. She turned around looking at me. "Hi I'm Koshi", she said looking at me. I blinked out of all the people looking at her why choose me. "Um my name's Yuki", I said with a nod. Kira looked at me and giggled, Hiei seemed to chuckle a little standing in the corner and Sion was well asleep. Yami on the other hand had a mad look in her eyes. I had to take advantage of this. I turned to Yami with a grin "jealous?" "No", she screamed crossing her arms. Koshi just blinked a bit confused.             "Um oh yeah, this is Hiei", I said pointing at him standing in the corner. He turned to Koshi and nodded. "This is Kira", I said looking at Kira. "Nice to meet you!!" She exclaimed smiling. "That's Sion", I then said pointing at the one snoring on his desk. "And finally this is Yami", I said pointing to her. "Yuki and I are very close", she said putting her arm around me. "Is that so", Koshi said raising her eyebrow. I sighed taking her arm off me. "It's nothing like that." The bell rang and we went off to our first class.             Koshi picked up her books but I saw some guy knock her books down and pin her against the wall. "Yuri what the hell do you think you're doing", I said walking up to him. He was wearing a long, red coat and a brown shirt with jeans. "Mind your damn business Yuki", he said to me then turning to Koshi who spit in his face. He pulled his hand back to hit her but I grabbed his arm throwing him to the floor. "I told you to back off", he said getting up and punching me across the face. Blood ran down my lip but I turned to Koshi. "Are you ok?" What the hell was going on with me for once I didn't care about myself! She blinked and picked up her books. "Y-yeah." Yuri threw another punch but I ducked and threw him into the lockers. "So you're going to “the power of fire" class so am I but we have to hurry or we'll be late", I said and began walking towards the class.             We reached the class just in time and I took a seat in the back Koshi taking a seat next to me. Sion and the others were sitting in front of us when Hiei turned to me seeing the blood on my lip. "What the hell happened to you", he asked looking at me. I sighed. "Nothing to worry about." I took out my book with the fire emblem on it. The bell rang and the teacher came in. The teacher was wearing a long red overcoat and army boots. His hair was long and silver he weld a red sword on his back. "By now class you all know about our new student", he said pointing Koshi out. Everyone nodded. "Now I'll need one of you to help Koshi catch up", he then said looking down. "I'll do it", I said out loud everyone then looked at me. Koshi looked at me too a light blush crossing over her face. The teacher blinked surprised. "Very well Mr. Konimoto", he said. Why the hell did I volunteer its just there was something about her.              "Now that that's settled class please open to page 42 “The Origin of Fire." I groaned along with everyone else and opened to the page. "Now will someone please start reading", the teacher said. "How bout you Sion", he said waking up the one drooling all over his book. "Pie to the radius squared", he said waking up. Everyone laughed and he smirked getting attention. "Uh just kidding sir I'll read. Sion cleared his throat and began reading. "The origin of Fire starts way back in the years." "Fire was used to rage war and to save humanity." "Fire now exists in a stone known as Matereon." "Matereon is condensed energy from the planet", Sion said looking up. I had to take this chance even if it meant getting in trouble. "Holy crap you just sounded smart", I said causing the class to laugh. Sion laughed with them but the teacher glared at me. "I know detention on Tuesday", I said with a sigh putting my hands on my desk. I swear I heard Koshi giggle but whatever.             We all began walking towards the next class "The Power of Water." "Yuki did you get any Matereon yet", Hiei asked looking at me. I sighed looking at the floor. "I don't have the gill for it right now", I said looking back up. We entered class and I took a seat in the back Koshi sitting next to me and Hiei on the other side. Kira, Yami and Sion sat in front of us. The teacher was a woman wearing blue top and skirt. She wore high boots, which were read and carried a blue staff. "Kira please come up to the front of the class and show the others power of water." Kira was an expert in water. Rumor says she even taught the teacher a thing or two. Kira drew her sword and began chanting ancient words. The piece of Matereon, which was the element of water, began to glow causing her skirt to fly up a bit. There was a bit of hooting as Kira disappeared into a waterfall.             She reappeared a bit different though. Her eyes glowed golden and her nails grew longer painted blue. Her outfit was gone replaced with a two-piece dark blue stringed bikini. Water flowed around her sword as she smiled looking at the class a light blush upon her face. Kira was pretty embarrassed about her elemental spirit she wasn't wearing much. Everyone cheered and whistled as she returned to herself and took her seat. "Now everyone calm down, that was the perfect way to use the full power of Matereon of water." "Remember class you'll all need to carry Matereon of all the basic elements soon in order to pass." "That's enough of class today everyone please head home for tonight and don't forget to practice", she said as the bell rang.             I went back to my locker and gathered a few books into my bag. "I'll see you later dude", Sion said punching my arm lightly. "Yeah later", I replied looking at my book bag. "See you later Yuki", Yami said running after Sion.  "Try to make some gill, there's an opening at the bar as another bouncer if you wish to join me", Hiei said walking past me. Koshi stood there waiting for me. "So when do I come over", Koshi asked looking at me. "Oh uh I guess around 4pm I live on Junon St. Apartment 27." She nodded and ran past me. "Bye!!" I couldn't help it my eyes traveled down watching her fine ass wiggle when she moved. I then shook my head and put on my headphones walking out of the school towards my apartment. Of course I ran into Yuri and his goons they stopped me.             "It's time I got payback", Yuri said cracking his knuckles. Two other guys stood with him. One wearing a blue long coat and the other wearing a red one. I recognized them. "Yuke Nisagi and Yoni Kiroko", I said putting my CD player down. They both drew their swords and Yuri put up his fists. "Three on one you guys sure you can win", I said grinning drawing my sword. I blocked Yuke's attack but Yoni kicked me in the stomach sending me against a tree. My back hit a tree causing me to cough up some blood. I stood up and ran at Yuke catching him off guard. I sliced through his coat and kicked him down. Yoni tried getting me from behind but I tripped him sticking my blade to his neck with a grin. "Your damn floozies are no match for me", I said grinning. Yuri ran at me just to be close lined by Hiei. "Man you should invite me when you're having a party", he said grinning. Yuri and his two buddies took off running. "So you going to be a bouncer with me", Hiei asked looking at me. I picked up my CD player and nodded. "I'll drop by later Koshi is stopping over", I said and began walking. "Ok", Hiei said nodding and ran off towards the bar.             I reached the door to my apartment to find Koshi sitting on the steps. I looked at my watch then back at her. "Your early", I said looking at her. She blushed a little looking down. "I don't have a place to live"‚ she said sighing. "Well I uh have an extra room with a bed", I said scratching my head. Koshi stood up and smiled giving me a hug. "Thank you so much", she said then blinked letting go of me. "Well um let's go inside", I said opening the door and walking into the apartment. The room we walked into was the living room. It has white walls and hardwood floors. In the center are a blue couch and a 27inch TV. My favorite part of this room is a blue hot tub in the corner.             "I'll give you a tour", I said walking into my room. I have a queen-sized bed with a nightstand on the left side. There was a dresser in front of the bed with another TV on it. I set my book bag down and opened the door onto the balcony. I stepped outside and Koshi followed me the wind blowing through her hair and mine. "That in there is my room and this is the balcony", I said looking out over the city. Koshi nodded and put her hands on the railing looking out at the city. The sun was beginning to set it looked kind of beautiful. Don't get me wrong I'm not one of those romantic types but still it did look beautiful. Then we both turned walking back into my room. Leaving my room I showed Koshi her room. Her room had a twin-sized bed and a nightstand on the left with a lamp on it. There was an empty dresser with a TV sitting on it and the remote by its side. "You can unpack now or later if you want", I said turning to leave the room. "Yuki", she said stopping me. I tuned around and looked at her. "Yes?" "Thank you", she replied and began unpacking. I nodded and left her to unpack. Who would've known I'd have a roommate?             While Koshi unpacked I took off my shirt a scar imprinted on my back. I went to the bathroom and put my swim trunks on. They're blue with black markings and sat down in the hot tub. I thought I'd get a little rest and relaxation before heading down to the bar. Koshi came out seeing me in the hot tub. "Oh yeah I'm going over to the bar later Koshi for a job, you can come if you want", I said sighing peacefully. Koshi just stared at me so I blinked and grinned some. "Care to join me?" Her eyes widen and she looked away. "Don't flatter yourself", she said and walked down the hall. I laughed and laid back a little relaxing.             About an hour later it was 7PM and I changed into some new clothes. I put on a red shirt and jeans with a brown coat. "Hey Koshi you coming to the bar", I asked turning to the hallway. She walked out wearing a black mini skirt and blue tube top tightly sticking to her skin. I couldn't help but look and she smirked and nodded. "Yeah I'll go."‚ She then walked out of the door leaving me in shock. I walked out after her and we both walked through the city when we reached the bar. "So what exactly is your job here", Koshi asked stopping at the door. "I'm going to be a bouncer", I said reaching for the handle. She blinked and looked at me snickering a little. "A bouncer huh", she said looking at me. "How do you find that funny", I asked looking at her. "Oh uh nothing it's just you don't seem like the violent type", she replied walking inside. Stepping inside the walls were wood panels and there were tables around the bar and a pool table in the back. "I'll see you later Koshi", I said walking upstairs. Koshi spotted Yami and Kira and walked over to them. Yami was wearing a black shirt cut off at the stomach and blue short jeans showing off her yellow thong a bit. She wore high heels and lipstick when she waved to Koshi. Koshi waved back a little and blinked as Kira hugged her. Kira was wearing a blue shirt and blue miniskirt with regular shoes. "Hiya Koshi-San!!" She said with a smile. "Um hello Yami and Kira", Koshi replied taking a seat at their table.             Yami eyed Koshi. "Your looking sexy tonight Koshi", Yami said blinking some. Koshi raised a brow then looked around the bar. I walked up the stairs seeing Hiei standing against the wall. "Why aren't you out front", I asked looking around. "Slow night tonight", Hiei said his eyes closed and his arms crossed. "I'm giving you a chance Yuki, go down there and keep the bar under control", Hiei said looking at me. "Ok I'll do it", I said stepping down the stairs. I looked around the bar. Two big guys were playing pool and Koshi was sitting with Kira and Yami talking with them. There was a girl dancing on the bar. Her hair was long and blue and her eyes an emerald green. Hiei came walking down the stairs and the girl winked at him. She wore a green bikini like top and a green thong. I raised a brow at Hiei. "Who's she?" "Oh uh that's Ivy I got her a job here as well", he replied blinking some. "No way that's Ivy Kinimori from school", I said glancing back at her. I shook my head and walked outside watching people enter the bar.             I stood outside boredly when I spotted Yuri and his two buddies enter the bar. Knowing there might be trouble I followed them in staying quiet. As I thought Yuri approached Koshi and began flirting. When she stood up to get away from him he pinned her against a wall. "Yo Yuri", I said walking up to him. He turned around and looked at me. "What the hell do you want?" "Well I seemed to notice you bothering a paying customer", I said cracking my knuckles. "So", he replied narrowing his eyes. "I happen to be a bouncer", I replied punching him in the face. He fell onto a table breaking it. Yoni went to punch me in the back but Hiei grabbed his arm and threw him to the ground. "That's coming out of your pay", Hiei said his back against mine. "Time to go to work", I replied grinning and putting my fists up.             We easily dealt with Yuri's goons throwing them out of the bar and into the streets. Yuri stood up holding a sparkling rock in his hand. "Oh shit he's got Matereon, the fire element", I said and Hiei nodded. The rock glowed and fire surrounded his hands. He threw a punch but to my surprise Koshi caught it not even flinching from the fire. She growled and threw him against a wall knocking him out. "I should've hired her", Hiei said laughing and throwing Yuri out of the bar. I blinked and looked at Koshi. "Doesn't it hurt", I asked looking at her. She looked down at her hand. "Er no I'm fine", she replied. "Let's go home Koshi", I said and began walking out of the bar. She nodded and waved to Kira and Yami who were blinking in shock and then followed after me.             She stopped in front of me turning around making cute kitten eyes. "I'm sorry are you mad at me?" she asked her ears twitching. I looked up into her eyes I couldn't take the damn cuteness. "No I uh just don't want you getting hurt", I said looking down. "And why is that?" she asked tilting her head. I didn't reply I just kept walking back to the apartment. She sighed and turned around following me. I stopped and she blinked looking at me. "Um oh yeah you looked great tonight", I said feeling my face heat up. She just walked past me. "No matter how many compliments you make I am not sleeping with you." She said walking past me. I blinked and looked at her walk. I sighed and shook my head walking after her.             We reached the apartment and I hit the lights. "Didn't I come here so you could help me", she said taking a seat on the couch. I looked at the clock and it was 9PM. "Ok I'll help you out", I said sitting down next to her and opening a book. I turned to a page that showed a piece of Matereon. "This is Matereon it holds the powers of the planet", I said looking at her. She nodded and looked at the picture. "My element is Darkness", she said taking out a piece of purple Matereon. I blinked and looked at her. "You already know all this don't you", I asked looking directly at her. "Hey it was the teachers idea not mine", she said closing her eyes. I sighed and closed the book. "Well that made my job easy." She got up and went down the hall I don't know where to.             About a half an hour later I opened the bathroom door to see Koshi in a towel. A blush crossed my face and her cat ears twitched her face also becoming red. "PERVERT", she yelled and smacked me across my face slamming the door. God that hurt like hell. I then went into the kitchen to cook up something for both of us. Koshi came out wearing a long blue shirt and green shorts she came into the kitchen. "Hey uh want some ramen?" I asked looking at her. She smiled and nodded. "Sure I'll have some ramen." I made us both a bowl of ramen and sat down at the kitchen table. Koshi took a seat next to me and we began eating. "Sorry for walking in on you", I said looking up from my ramen. "I-it's alright", she said. I looked up at her seeing her face a bit red. Around 10PM I got back into my swim trunks and relaxed in the hot tub watching a little TV. To my surprise Koshi came down from the hallway in a black and purple Bikini and got in the water on the opposite side of me. I blinked and looked at her seeing her blush pretty deeply. I smirked and laid back letting my muscles relax in the hot water. She then came over next to me sitting down. "I'm sorry for hitting you", she said her voice sounding soft. I blinked and looked over at her. "It's alright." She shocked me even more when she laid her head on my shoulder closer her eyes. I put my hand on her knee but she whispered something in my ear. "Do you like that hand", she said grinning her eyes still closed. I quickly took my hand off her knee and relaxed again.             When I looked at the clock it was 11PM and Koshi was sound asleep on my shoulder. I gently shook her. "Koshi, Koshi it's time to get up", I said looking at her. She blinked and groaned tilting her head up. "It's time to get some sleep". She nodded and got up out of the hot tub. I walked down the hallway into my room and she went into hers. "Goodnight", She said closing her door. "Goodnight", I replied and closed my door. I changed into my boxers hanging my swim trunks to dry. Then I jumped onto my bed getting comfortable. On the next room Koshi changed back into the long blue shirt and shorts and got under the covers getting comfortable. On the other side of the wall was her bed and I heard her talking to me. "Thanks, for everything Yuki", she said sighing peacefully. I smiled. "Thanks for your help Koshi" I replied and began to drift asleep. I heard her yawn and then it became quiet as we both slept.             Koshi awakened me, she was staring at me. I jumped back surprised and slammed my head on the headboard. She laughed and turned around. "Good morning", she said laughing. I groaned and rubbed my head. "Yeah good morning", I said sighing. I looked at her rubbing my eyes. She was wearing what she wore to school yesterday. I then turned and looked at my clock. "Oh god I'm going to be late", I yelled and uncovered myself. Koshi's eyes widened and she blinked looking at me and then looked away blushing. I looked down forgetting I was in my boxers. "Uh sorry", I said and got up putting on my school clothes. I picked up my book bag and she picked up hers. We left the apartment and began walking down the street back towards the school. We entered the school and I put my book bag in my locker and took a seat in homeroom. As always I took a seat in back and Koshi took a seat next to me. "Good morning Yuki and Koshi", Kira said taking a seat in front of Koshi. I saw Ivy walk into homeroom and I smirked. "You seem so innocent in school Ivy", I said laughing a little. "Hey I happen to like dancing and besides Hiei gives me some good money", she snapped at me and then took her seat. Hiei came in and stood in the corner near my desk. "Hey Yuki here's your share from last night", he said handing me 400 gill. I took the money and put it in my pocket. "Thanks", I said cracking my neck. Sion walked in getting some cheering from some girls and sat down on the other side of me. "Good morning", he yawned laying his head on the desk.             Yami came in and sat in front of Sion getting whistles from all the guys. She smirked and turned to me licking her lips. I sighed and shook my head laying my head on my desk. Out of the corner of my eye I swear I saw Koshi giving Yami a bad look but maybe it was only my imagination. I looked up at the homeroom teacher who was trying to quiet the class down. "Today will be weapon training all day class", she said getting they're attention. Everyone cheered and stood up except the others and me. We all decided to stay seated and Hiei was still standing against the wall. Ivy walked over to Hiei holding her weapon a whip in her hand. "Hiei want to be my training partner", she said looking up at him. Hiei opened his eyes looking at Ivy raising a brow. "Yeah", he replied closing his eyes again. Sion partnered up with Yami and Kira, Koshi and I all decided to train together. We all stood clearing the desks to get some space. I saw Kira whisper something to Koshi and they both grinned looking at me. I had a bad feeling about those grins, what the hell were they going to do to me?             Kira drew her handguns pointing them at me and Koshi drew her Uzi's doing the same. "Oh shit", I said and drew my blade as they fired. I deflected a few bullets from each of them then dodge rolled out of the way of their fire. Koshi put her guns away and put the dark Matereon into her hand. Her body flowed with dark energy and she ran at me. She kicked my blade out of my hand and tripped me sticking her boot on my neck. My eyes widened she was so damn fast. Kira laughed and approached me tickling me. I squirmed around trying to get free but Koshi grinned keeping me there. THIS WAS TORTURE! I grabbed Kira's hands and used my weight to throw her into Koshi. I then stood up and grinned running and grabbing my blade.             Ivy and Hiei took a spot on the floor. Hiei drew his two Katanas the blades the color of gold. Ivy inserted Earth Matereon into her weapon causing the regular whip to be coated with metal. Hiei ran at her clashing his blades against her whip. She broke the clash and grabbed one of his blades with her whip flinging it into her hand with a grin. Hiei blinked a bit surprised by this. Catching him by surprise again she caught his foot with the whip tripping him. She then ran up and stuck the blade to Hiei's neck grinning. Hiei wasn't really a gentle one even with the ladies. He grabbed hold of her hand holding the blade and kicked her in the stomach sending her into the wall with a thud. Hiei stood up and walked over to her leaning down to see if she was alright.             Yami did a back flip drawing her two knives. Sion grinned and drew the two swords. Yami ran at him and he brought the swords down clashing with her knives. Yami broke the guard kicking Sion in the stomach and then kicking him in the head causing him to fall to the floor. Sion got up and put his arms around her holding her from behind. Yami blushed a little maybe she was only faking the naughty girl act. "You like that", she said grinning as she tried breaking free but Sion kept his grip. "Maybe", he replied grinning. Yami grinned and pushed her leg up kicking him right in the groin. Sion groaned and dropped to his knees a blank look in his eyes. Yami smirked and got on her knees looking at him.             Everyone was having fun training when the power went out. It scared most of the girls and Kira and Koshi got close to me both of them holding onto each of my arms. I blinked and looked around making sure everyone was here in the dark. I saw Sion getting helped up by Yami and Hiei with a weird expression on his face as Ivy buried her face into his chest acting scared. I smirked looking at him he just looked back at me and shook his head. It was very quiet and I heard footsteps out in the hall. The teacher was behind her desk pretty scared. "Stay here", I whispered to Kira and Koshi and walked over to the teacher kneeling down to talk to her. "There's someone outside", I whispered to her she turned to look at me and nodded. I stood up and Hiei and Sion stood beside me as I opened the door looking outside.             I saw the back of a man with long black hair. He was wearing a white suit and held a sword in his hand. I stepped out thinking he might be a student and he turned around looking at me. He ran at me and I drew my sword clashing it with his. "So this is where you've been", he said breaking the clash and kicking me into the lockers. He ran at me and slashed his sword sticking it into a locker. He pulled it out and grinned sheathing it. I looked at him walking away. Memories of seven years ago flowed into my head. I held my head closing my eyes tight these were memories I didn't want to remember.
